M1000 RELAY IMMOBILIZER FAQS

· Will the M1000 work on my vehicle?
o The M1000 Relay Immobilizer will work on all gas-powered passenger vehicles with an accessible starter relay. It can work on hybrid and electric vehicles as well if they have an accessible ignition relay. If you are unsure if the M1000 will work on your vehicle, contact us for further information.
· How does the M1000 work?
o The M1000 plugs into your vehicle’s starter relay and operates (arms/disarms) through our free mobile app available on the Apple store or Google Play store. It arms automatically after one minute of all connected and paired mobile phones leaving the Bluetooth range of the M1000 device and disarms via Face ID, Fingerprint, Passcode or the ‘Proximity’ auto-disarm feature. A full installation manual, function sheets and videos are available with the purchase of an M1000 Relay Immobilizer.
· How do I know which relay model will work on my vehicle?
o The M1000 is available in four different 12V models to work on most passenger vehicles. To determine the correct M1000 model for your vehicle with the vehicle turned off open the hood and locate your engine fuse box. Open the lid of your engine fuse box and locate the starter relay, most vehicles will have the fuse and relay locations stamped on the inside of the engine fuse box lid. Gently remove the starter relay and match to an M1000 Relay 12V model. If an M1000 12V model matches your starter relay the M1000 will work in your vehicle. If you are unsure which M1000 12V model will work in your vehicle, contact us for further information.
· Can I install the M1000 by myself?
o Yes, in most cases the M1000 is an easy plug and play installation. If you are unsure of how to install your M1000 Relay Immobilizer we recommend a certified technician installs it to ensure it is done to the specification of your vehicle.
· How long does it take to install the M1000?
o The M1000 installation can vary by vehicle but generally the M1000 relay installation and connecting and pairing your mobile phone to our M1000 App will take 30 minutes or less.
· Does the M1000 come with an installation manual?
o Yes. Your installation manual, function sheets and videos are all included with your M1000 purchase. They are available in a password protected area of our website or through your M1000 installation facility.
· How many mobile phones can connect and pair with each M1000 device?
o Ten mobile phones can connect and pair with each M1000 device including a ‘Master’ phone which is the first phone connected and paired to the M1000 device. The ‘Master’ phone has the ability to delete or modify other M1000 device users as well as to ‘clear all phones’ in emergency situations such as a lost or stolen mobile phone.
· How many M1000 devices can I connect and pair my mobile phone with?
o Your mobile phone can be connected and paired with as many M1000 devices as needed, there is no limit. You can change the M1000 device that you would like to operate through the M1000 App.
· What if I leave my mobile phone in my vehicle?
o The M1000 device arms automatically when all connected and paired mobile phones are out of Bluetooth range for one minute or longer. If you leave your mobile phone inside your vehicle or within the Bluetooth range with your mobile phone’s Bluetooth connection on the M1000 device will not arm. Ensure your mobile phone is away from your vehicle to arm your M1000 device.
· What if I leave my keys in my vehicle without my mobile phone?
o If you remove your connected and paired mobile phone from Bluetooth range of your M1000 device for one minute or longer the M1000 will be armed. Your vehicle will not be able to be started, even with the keys inside the vehicle, without a connected and paired mobile phone returning to Bluetooth range of the M1000 device.
· What is the Bluetooth range?
o Bluetooth range is the distance that your mobile phone needs to be away from the M1000 device for it to arm. The range can vary depending on mobile phone model, signal strength, surroundings, etc. but is approx. 12-24 feet. Your mobile phone determines the Bluetooth range distance not the M1000 app or device. Once all connected and paired to the M1000 device have left the Bluetooth range it will arm after one minute. If the ‘Proximity’ auto-disarm user function is off the M1000 device will not disarm even if a connected and paired mobile phone re-enters the Bluetooth range of the M1000 device without a user manually disarming the device.
· What if I get a new mobile phone or my phone is lost or stolen?
o The procedures for what do if you get a new mobile phone, or your phone is lost or stolen can be different depending on if you are the ‘Master’ phone (first phone connected and paired with the M1000 device) or a user phone (all phones connected and paired after the ‘Master’ phone). Function sheets of what do in this occurrence, including Yes. Your installation manual, function sheets and videos are all included with your M1000 purchase. They are available in a password protected area of our website or through your M1000 installation facility.
· Will the M1000 work on my construction equipment or recreational vehicle?
o Yes, the M1000 can work on most vehicles that have an accessible starter relay and are 12V or 24V. Some smaller construction equipment uses a 12V starter relay which the M1000 12V models will work with. The M1000 is available in a 24V model for larger construction equipment with a 24V starter relay. The M1000 can also work on different types of recreational vehicles with an accessible starter relay and matching M1000 12V model.
· I already have a tracking system/manufacturer security system on my vehicle, why should I add an M1000?
o Many expert organizations believe that a layered approach, such as adding after-market devices like electronic immobilizers, is the best way to prevent your vehicle from being stolen. Our M1000 Relay Immobilizer can add an extra layer of security to your vehicle making it more difficult for thieves to steal your vehicle.
· Will the M1000 work with my remote starter?
o A connected and paired mobile phone must be in Bluetooth range of the M1000 device to disarm and start the vehicle. The M1000 can be used with your remote starter if you first enter Bluetooth range with your mobile phone and disarm the M1000 device. You can then use your remote starter as normal. Note: The M1000 will not be protecting your vehicle while the engine is running.
· How do I buy the M1000?
o The M1000 is available to purchase on our website or by contacting an installation facility if available in your area.
